THIS TIME OF YEAR, THERE IS MUCH TALK ABOUT WANTING THINGS FOR CHRISTMAS. WANTING TO GIVE THINGS. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE THINGS OF GOD ? WHAT VALUE DO THEY HOLD IN YOUR LIFE ? THESE ARE GOD’S GIFTS TO US.
OBVIOUSLY, HIS GREATEST GIFT WAS SALVATION THROUGH JESUS. BUT, THESE THINGS WHICH FOLLOW MUST BE DULY TREASURED WHEN COMPARED TO THE THINGS WHICH THE WORLD OFFERS.
1 Corinthians 2:10-11 But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1. HIS WORD.
1 Samuel 9:27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
- THINGS BECOME EVEN MORE VALUABLE WHEN THEY ARE IN SCARE SUPPLY AND NOT AS AVAILABLE, ALTHOUGH THEY ARE NEEDED JUST AS MUCH.
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
2. HE HAS GOODNESS AND HOLINESS.
Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
3. HE HAS AN INHERITANCE.
2 Samuel 14:16 For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
C. HIS GIFTS AND CALLING TO HIS PEOPLE.
Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
4. A PLACE SEPARATED FOR HIMSELF.
1 Chronicles 9:27 And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
5. HE ALSO HAS A TEMPLE. OUR BODIES.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
6. HE HAS GIVEN US PART OF HIMSELF, THE PRECIOUS SPIRIT OF GOD.
2 Chronicles 15:1-2 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded: And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with Him; and if ye seek Him, He will be found of you; but if ye forsake Him, He will forsake you.
7. HIS POWER. JUST WITH THE FINGER, HE REMOVES ENEMIES.
Luke 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
8. HE HAS GREAT HELP.
Acts 26:22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
9. HE HAS PRECIOUS PROMISES WHICH SHALL COME TO PASS.
Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
10. HE HAS AMAZING MERCY.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
11. HE HAS A KINGDOM.
Luke 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
