GENESIS – WHO IS GOD ?

HOW DOES GOD PRESENT HIMSELF IN THE EARLIEST DESCRIPTIONS ?

ELOHIM= A PLURAL HEBREW WORD.  “GOD”

GOD MANIFESTS HIMSELF IN THREE WAYS.

GOD THE FATHER:   THIS PART CANNOT BE SEEN.  John 1:18 “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”    Lev. 26:11-12  “And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.  And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.”  John 14:8 “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”

GOD THE SPIRIT:  Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”  Genesis 6:3 “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”  John 15:26 “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

GOD THE SON:  YESHUA, JESUS, IS THE PHYSICAL MANIFESTATION OF GOD.   Luke 3:22 “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”  Colossians 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”    John 14:10 “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”  1 John 1:2 “(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)”

–IT WAS YESHUA, OR JESUS, WHO CREATED ALL THINGS.  Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

–WALKED IN THE GARDEN.  SPOKE WITH AUDIBLE VOICE.  Genesis 3:8 “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?”

–PHYSICALLY CLOSED THE DOOR OF THE ARK.  Genesis 7:16 “And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.”

–HE APPEARED TO ABRAM PHYSICALLY.  Genesis 12:7 “And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.”

–ABRAHAM RECOGNIZED HIS PHYSICAL FORM.  Genesis 18:1 & 3 “And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;  And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:”

–SARAH HEARD THE VOICE OF YESHUA SPEAKING TO ABRAHAM.  THEREFORE, IT HAD TO BE A PHYSICAL, AUDIBLE VOICE.  Genesis 18:12 “Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

–HE WAS KNOWN AS MELCHIZEDEK.  Genesis 14:18  “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.”  Hebrews 7:1-3  “For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;  To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;  Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.”

–KNOWN AS AN ANGEL OF GOD.  Genesis 32:30 “And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”  Judges 13:21-22  “But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.  And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.”

–HE SPOKE FACE TO FACE WITH MOSES.  Numbers 14:14 “And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.”  Exodus 33:11 “And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.”  Exodus 29:42 “This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.”

–THE FATHER AND SON ARE CAPABLE OF HAVING LIFE INDEPENDENTLY FROM EACH OTHER.  John 5:26 “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;”  John 10:38 “But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.”  John 5:23 “That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”
