THE GIVING OF A BLESSING: FOR US TO DO ?
1. WHAT IS A BLESSING ?
A. NOT ALWAYS AS OBVIOUS AS WE MIGHT THINK.
—A PERSON’S LIFE CAN BE A BLESSING. THEIR
BEHAVIOR, TESTIMONY, ETC. GEN. 12:2. *EX.—CORY
TEN BOOM IN FLEA-INFESTED CONCENTRATION CAMP.
B. ULTIMATELY, ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM GOD.

C. THEY COVER HEAVEN AND EARTH, NOW AND LATER.
GEN. 49:25
D. SOME BLESSINGS ARE OF A SPIRITUAL NATURE. EPH. 1:3.
—GIVING OUT THE GOSPEL IS A BLESSING. ROM. 15:29.
—TURNING FROM INIQUITY IS A BLESSING. ACTS 3:26.
2. WHY IT IS BIBLICAL.
A. JESUS COMMANDED IT. MATT. 5:44.
B. IT IS THE ATTITUDE OF PEOPLE RIGHT WITH GOD.
1 PET. 3:9.
C. BY DOING IT TO THE BRETHREN, WE DO IT TO THE
LORD. MATT. 25:40.
D. ALL BLESSING SHOULD BE RETURNED TO GOD.

**WE HAVE SPECIAL OBLIGATION TO MAKE SURE GOD IS
BLESSED THROUGH IT, NOT COMPLYING WITH THE
WILL OF SINFUL MEN. MATT. 7;6.
3. WHY SOME CANNOT DO IT.
A. SOME HAVEN’T GROWN ENOUGH. HEB. 5:12.
B. SOME ARE NOT YIELDED TO THE HOLY SPIRIT.

—NOT ENOUGH FAITH. MATT. 13:58.
C. SOME PEOPLE DON’T COUNT IT TO BE IMPORTANT
ENOUGH. HEB. 12:17.
4. WHEN IT SHOULD BE DONE.
A. WHEN THERE IS A NEED FOR BLESSING (WHETHER
THEY WANT IT, OR NOT !) GEN. 48:9, PROV. 24:24-25.
B. IN RETURN FOR BEING A BLESSING. HEB. 6:14.
