PERCEPTION: HOW WOULD YOU SEE THESE EVENTS ?

Without the guidance of the Word, certain events affecting you can be interpreted in the wrong way !

1. The fleeing of the Babylonians. (Jer. 37:5)
A. Is God’s timing ours ? Had to wait for the judgment. 2 Peter 3:8

2. The suppression of truth. (Jer. 38:4)
A. Seemed as if it would be halted. But, the truth cannot be stopped.
– Angels spreading Gospel. Rev. 14:6-7
– Nehemiah’s ordeal. Neh. 6:2
– Threatened believers. Acts 8:1-6, 2 Tim. 2:4-5

3. State-support release of Jeremiah. (Jer. 38:10)
A. A change in official policy ? Or, done as political favor ?
Luke 23:25, Mark 15:6, 15

4. The successful escape of Zedekiah. (Jer. 39:4)
A. Felt safe until caught. Psalm 73:18, Jer. 23:12

5. The giving of the land to the poor. (Jer. 39:10)
A. Were the Babylonians now the “good guys”?
(Jer. 25:9, 27:6)

6. The freedom of Jeremiah. (Jer. 39:14)
A. Did the Babylonians want to hear Jeremiah’s preaching more than the Jews ?
