CONSEQUENCES TO TURNING BACK FROM THE COVENANT

Just because you have experienced God’s favor, it doesn’t mean that you can get away with willful sin!

1. Consequences that nations face.
A. Israel’s covenant with God. Exodus 19:8
– One day will be followed by Israel.Ezek. 37:26
B. America made a covenant with God. (**It is up to following generations to keep
a covenant agreed to by their fathers – OTHERWISE, what good are
covenants ?) Psalms 9:17, 119:53

2. Consequences to families.
A. King Zedekiah’s family. (Jer. 34:4-5, 52:2, 9-11) Why ? He didn’t abide in what
the Lord offered to Him.
B. Abraham & Hagar = Ishmael, father of the Arab tribes. Gen. 16:1-4

3. Consequences to individuals.
A. After commitment to serve God. Luke 9:62
B. Making vows to do something. Psalms 50:14, Acts 5:1-14
C. Jonah got into trouble because he tried to pull back, then repented. Jonah 2:9
